earworm(s) of the day

There are two reasons why "Before The Parade Passes By" was stuck in my head all day yesterday.

 The most obvious is because there was a huge parade in New York City because of some giant football game. People talked about it in class but all I could hear was... Barbra (x2).

 The other reason is much more obviously theater-related. I'm taking a class called Song as Scene and my assignment for this week was "a ballad from the American songbook." So as everyone was buzzing with excitement about their New York pride, I was in Yonkers circa 1960.
